유아킴 팔메스웨덴 웁살라 대학교 정치학과 교수이다. 미래연구소(IFS)의 CEO(2003~2009), 스톡홀름 대학교와 스웨덴 사회조사연구소(SOFI) 교수를 역임했고, 스웨덴 사민당 지도자이며 총리를 역임한 올로프 팔메(Olof Palme)의 아들로, 현재 세계에서 가장 주목받는 복지학자 중 한 명이다. 주요 논문으로 “The Nordic model and the modernisation of social protection in Europe”(1999/2000), “Pension Rights in Welfare Capitalism. The Development Old-Age Pensions in 18 OECD Countries 1930~1985”(1990), “The Paradox of Redistribution and Strategies of Equality: Welfare State Institutions, Inequality and Poverty in the Western Countries”(1998, co-authorship) 등이 있다. 대표작
