수전 타일러 히치콕(Hitchcock, Susan Tyler)버지니아 기술대학에서 인문학을 강의했다. 역사와 문화, 자연에 대해 11권의 책을 쓴 저술가이자 내셔널지오그래픽의 편집자로서 『Revolutionary War, Trail to Wounded Knee』, 『On the Move: Transportation and the American Story』 등을 저술했다. 개인 저술로는 『Gather Ye Wild Things』와 『Mad Mary Lamb』 등이 있다.
