키스 먹시(Moxey, Keith)2008년 현재 버너드 컬리지와 컬럼비아 대학교 미술사학과의 앤 휘트니 올린 교수다. 미술사의 역사와 철학 그리고 16세기 북유럽 회화와 판화에 관한 책들을 썼다. 《이론의 실천》 이외에도 단독 저서로 《설득의 실천: 미술사의 역설과 권력(The Practice of Persuasion: Paradox and Power in Art History》(2001), 《농부와 전사와 아내들: 종교개혁기의 대중적 이미지(Peasants, Warriors, and Wives: Popular Imagery in the Reformation)》(1989)가 있고, 또 《미술사학, 미학, 시각문화(Art History, Aesthetics, Visual Culture)》(2002), 《미술사의 주제: 오늘날의 관점에서 본 역사적 대상(The Subjects of Art History: Historical Objects in Contemporary Perspective)》(1998), 《시각문화: 이미지와 해석(Visual Culture: Images and Interpretations》(1994), 《시각이론: 회화와 해석(Visual Theory: Painting and Interpretation)》(1991) 같은 여럿 논문 총서를 공동 편집하기도 했다. 대표작
